ENSURING PHYSICAL DISTANCING

  • Measures to ensure physical distancing are adhered to where customers or employees are in line for coffee service. Clients are asked to place tape or other markings at 6-foot intervals in any area where staff members or guests may form a line or stand. We will establish directional passageways for foot traffic, if possible, to eliminate employees and /or guests from passing by one another.

  • Technology solutions where possible have been implemented to reduce person-to-person interaction; online menu, mobile ordering, contactless payment options are available.

  • Plexiglass sneeze guard barriers are installed on each coffee bar, where maintaining a physical distance of six feet is difficult.

  • All drinks are served with lids on the beverage.

  • Operations have been redesigned, where possible, to achieve physical distancing between employees and customers. Customers will pick up coffee orders at the very end of the bar to avoid direct contact with the barista.

  • All food safety practices outlined in the California Retail Food Code (CRFC) are being followed and maintained. Utensils and equipment are cleaned and sanitized at the required frequency outlined in the CRFC.

  • Machinery and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized frequently (using products approved for use against COVID-19).

  • Areas, where customers may touch food or food ware items that other customers may use, have been removed. These disposable items are provided to customers individually on request. This includes but is not limited to: Self-service areas with condiment caddies, stir sticks, napkins, lids, straws, to-go lids, etc.

Your safety is our first concern

  • All employees have been told not to come to work if sick or if they are exposed to a person who has COVID-19.

  • Employee screenings are conducted before employees may enter the workspace. Screenings include a check-in concerning cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing and fever or chills, and if the employee has had contact with a person known to be infected COVID-19 in the last 14 days. These checks are done in person upon the employees’ arrival.

  • A temperature check is done at the beginning of every shift.

  • Face masks are worn at all times during the workday when in contact or likely to come into contact with others.

  • Staff follows hygiene practices including frequent handwashing and use of hand sanitizer. Service gloves are worn during coffee service and replaced every 30 minutes.

  • Staff are prohibited from eating or drinking anywhere near the coffee bar other than designated break areas during coffee service.

  • All employees have been provided instructions regarding maintaining physical distancing and the use face coverings when around others.

  • Hand sanitizer effective against COVID-19 is available to all staff members and is offered to customers at each service with the coffee bar.

  • Copies of this Protocol have been distributed to all employees.
